All students must bring the following:

  • A valid passport – we recommend it be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of return (until at least January 2026).

  • Any additional health insurance documents required for international travel

Please also email a scanned copy of the passport and EHIC (if applicable) to:
📧 info@englishyesyoucan.com

Signed Travel Authorisation Form for Minors

If your child is under 18 and travelling without a parent or guardian, a signed parental travel consent form is often required.

We recommend:

  • Checking with your local authorities (e.g. police, notary, or passport office) for the specific travel consent form used in your country.

  • Ensuring the form is signed by a parent/legal guardian and notarised or stamped, if required.

  • Emailing a scanned copy of the form to info@englishyesyoucan.com.

  • Having your child travel with the original form and one copy in their hand luggage.

⚠️ The form is typically valid for three months. Please ensure it is issued within three months of the travel date to remain valid for the trip.

Visas

If your child is travelling from outside the UK, they may need a visa or ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) to enter the UK. It is essential that you check the visa requirements for minors from your child’s country before booking flights.

For non-UK or non-EU citizens, please visit the official UK Government website to confirm whether a visa or ETA is required:
🌐 UK Visa and Immigration

Travel Regulations for Minors
  • UK Immigration Law: If a minor is travelling to the UK without a parent or guardian, they may be required to show proof of parental consent and/or other documents at immigration.

  • Travel Consent: Some countries require a notarised travel consent form when a minor is travelling abroad alone or with someone other than their parents/guardians.

Please ensure that you confirm all required documentation well in advance to avoid travel disruptions.

Flying as a Minor and Airline Chaperone Services

For students aged 12 and above, many airlines offer Unaccompanied Minor Services, where an airline representative will accompany your child throughout the flight.

  • Chaperone Service: Available for children under 12, though the specific age limit may vary by airline. The airline staff will ensure the child is escorted to and from the gate, help them with the flight, and take care of their needs during the journey.

  • Age Requirements for Flying Alone:

    • Students aged 12 and older can often travel without chaperone services, but please check with the airline for specific rules regarding unaccompanied minors.

    • Some airlines may allow children aged 12-16 to fly alone with minimal assistance.

Please check with your airline for specific rules, age limits, and availability of the unaccompanied minor service.
